Our consultants reviewed a case of a 50-year-old female who received bimonthly doses of Cerezyme (Imiglucerase). The AMS physician consulting experts reviewed the case and determined that the patient suffered from Gaucher’s disease and that the Cerezyme administration is standard of care. Gaucher’s disease is caused by an enzyme deficiency and Cerezyme is a recombinant enzyme replacement therapy. After thorough review of the case, our consultants, who are currently practicing, confirmed that the care was standard and necessary.
